Hi, I’m Mariya, the owner of The Alteration Studio CLE. Sewing has been a part of my life since I was 10 years old, taught by my mother, and fueled by my love for creativity. With a degree in fashion design and over a decade of experience, I specialize in alterations and custom sewing that bring garments to life.

Whether it’s perfecting the fit of your wedding dress, tailoring your favorite suit, or reviving a beloved piece, I treat every project with care and precision. My home studio in Cleveland is a welcoming space where clients can expect personalized service, expert craftsmanship, and the occasional visit from my two very curious cats (don’t worry, they stay out of the sewing!).

What is the cost of alterations?

The cost of alterations depends on fabric, garment complexity, and the work required. At the end of your first fitting, I provide an exact quote tailored to your needs. While my pricing is competitive and reflects the quality and care I bring to every project, it’s important to note that I focus on delivering exceptional craftsmanship rather than being the cheapest option. My goal is to ensure your garment fits beautifully and meets your expectations. Most wedding dress alterations cost between $500-$1,000.

How long does it take to complete alterations?

Standard alterations typically take 5–10 business days and are completed in the order they are received on a first-come, first-served basis. Bridal and formalwear alterations may require 3–8 weeks and multiple fittings. Rush services are available for an additional fee.

When should I schedule my wedding dress alterations?

It’s best to schedule your wedding dress alterations at least 2-3 months before your wedding day. This allows enough time for multiple fittings and adjustments to ensure your dress fits perfectly. We recommend booking your first fitting as soon as you have your dress, and ideally, no later than 3 months before the wedding. This way, we can ensure any necessary adjustments are made without the stress of last-minute changes.

Please note that my appointment slots fill up quickly, and I take a limited number of wedding dresses each year. To secure your spot, I highly recommend scheduling your first fitting well in advance, especially during peak wedding season.

How do I book an appointment?

You can book an appointment through our booking tool. Walk-ins are not accepted to ensure personalized service for every client.

Do you do custom sewing or garment creation?

Yes, we offer custom garment creation services. Contact us to discuss your design idea and get a quote.

Do you offer same-day or rush services?

Yes, rush services are available for an additional fee. Please contact us via text to check availability.

Do I need to bring anything to my fitting?

Yes, please bring the shoes and undergarments you plan to wear with the garment to ensure the perfect fit.

What is your cancellation policy?

We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Where are you located?

We are located in the Old Brooklyn area in Cleveland, Ohio, with a private fitting space in our home studio. The exact address will be shared upon booking.
